Three month update on Manteca Police Street Crime Unit (SCU)

SCU has been very busy the last three months. This unit consists of one sergeant, three detectives, and one parole agent. In the last three months they have made:

» 54 Felony arrests

» 24 Misdemeanor arrest

» 15 parolees re-booked on parole holds

» 46 drug cases

» 193 grams of Methamphetamine recovered

» 1,287 grams of Marijuana recovered

» 7.4 grams of heroin recovered

» 299 illegal possession of prescription pills recovered

» 2.3 grams of Hashish recovered

» 7 guns recovered (4 stolen) and one was an assault rifle

» 8 Search Warrants

» Multiple gang cases and gang contacts..

SCU has been working hard to address the drug sales and gang activity in and around the City of Manteca. This team is lead by Sergeant Chris Mraz. SCU is a pro-active policing unit, it handles an influx of information from the public regarding suspected narcotics activity, gangs, and other crimes.

IF YOU SUSPECT NARCOTIC ACTIVITY IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD:

Things to look for:

-Unusual amount of traffic (vehicles or pedestrian)

-Short stay traffic

-Activity at the location at all hours of the day and night

-Unusual chemical odors
